Sony sent press invites to the media last month for its MWC event which is scheduled on February 27. During MWC, Sony is expected to unveil a couple of smartphones. While there’s no confirmation from the company yet about which smartphones it’s going to unveil, a Sony smartphone named Pikachu has popped-up on GFXBench which might be unveiled during the MWC event.
Going by the specifications, the Sony Pikachu is in no way a flagship device. To start with, it’s powered by MediaTek’s Helio P20 MT6757 octa-core processor which is clocked at 2.3 GHz and is paired with 3 GB RAM. Graphics department is handled by the Mali-T880 MP2 GPU and the device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat.
The Sony Pikachu sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and has 32 GB of storage on board. Well, hopefully there will be a provision to expand the storage via microSD card. The device sports a 21 MP camera at the back for regular shots, and for selfies, it comes with a 7 MP camera on the front.
Going by the past leaks and rumors, Sony is said to unveil two smartphones, carrying model number G3112 (G31XX) and G3221 (G32XX). For now, we can only wait for an official statement from Sony regarding the smartphones it’s going to unveil at MWC. In the mean time, we are pretty sure to come across more such leaks before MWC kicks off.
