The inaudibility of Sony Mobile in the year 2012 may not continue in 2013. Seems like Sony is on to releasing some very striking smartphones this year. Sony has been hushing up all the details to spring a surprise at the Mobile World Congress but we managed to get our hands on some interesting specifics.
Sony is expected to release the Sony ‘Huashan’ (pictured above) whose model number is Sony C530X series and is expected to launch in three variants numbers as C5302, C5303 and C5306. These phones in the Sony C530X series are expected to be christened as Sony Xperia SP in the global market. The series, which will be modelled similarly to the Xperia S, will have aluminium chassis and hence derives the name Xperia SP. Surprisingly all the three devices are supposed to mid-range Android phones.
The expected features of Xperia SP are:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T chipset
- 1.7 GHz dual-core processor
- Adreno 320 graphics
- 720p resolution display
- Google Android Jelly Bean OS
Besides this, Sony is expected to release a lower end series, C210X which would have two phones, C2104 and C2105. In the market this series would be called Sony Xperia L.
The expected features of Xperia L are:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon Chipset
- 1 GHz dual-core processor
- Adreno 305 graphics
- FWVGA resolution (480 x 854) display
- Google Android Jelly Bean OS
With these five phones lined up, 2013 should be a productive year for Sony Mobile. Now we have to wait until MWC to see what really Sony has to offer.
