With cameras becoming a prerequisite for smartphones, Sony has announced the new Sony Exmor RS IMX230 camera sensor.
Sony Corporation has announced the launch of the new Sony Exmor RS IMX230 stacked CMOS camera sensor with 1/2.4″ aperture and 21 MP resolution. The sensor has an on-board image plane phase detection AF signal processing function and is said to offer the best focus tracking of fast-moving subjects.
Similarly the new Sony Exmor RS IMX230 camera sensor has a High Dynamic Range (HDR) function, which would allow the users to capture both backgrounds and subjects clearly even in high-contrast scenes. The camera sensor support 4K Ultra HD videos at 30 fps, 1080p videos at 60 fps and 720p videos at 120 fps. The sensor is expected to be shipped in mid-2015.
