Now often we see blogs/forums/websites which are dedicated to a particular mobile handset manufacturer. They usually praise the company’s products and are mostly biased towards it, and well ofcourse the manufacturing company gets to publicise and gains some audience. Sony Ericsson, on the other hand, recently filed in a complaint against a fan based blog/forum and claims that owners are using the website with wrong intentions. Xperiablog.net has said that they will be immediately shutting down their website and their operationsXperiablog.net’s founder said:
We do not have the resources to fight Sony Ericsson on this and therefore this is the last you will hear from us. Sony Ericsson has made great strides in its Xperia portfolio, especially in listening to the community. This makes it all the more confusing as to why Sony Ericsson would want to shut us down. We genuinely believe that 2012 could be a bumper year for the company, we just wish we could have been there along for the ride.
According to sources Sony Ericsson did so to protect their trademarks. However it seems like a pretty harsh decision taken by the company. What do you think about this ?
