Sony Ericsson has officially made Live with Walkman Android smartphone available to the masses in India. Sony Ericsson is still putting in efforts to revive its walkman series and this is the latest offering by the company.
The handset has a dedicated Walkman hardware button and runs on Android Gingerbread which will be upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich in the future.
The smartphone has a 3.2 inch screen and a 1GHz processor. A front facing camera is enabled for Skype video calling, while the 5MP camera on the back panel captures 720p HD video recording. The smartphone also has Sony’s patented xLOUD audio technology which complements the Walkman branding.
Users will get 50GB free online storage/sharing for digital content, equivalent of approximately 12,800 songs or close to 70 movies ; done in collaboration with Box. The Year-long promotion will run until end of 2012.
The smartphone comes with a benefit offer form Aircel . On a recharge of Rs. 295 per month, Aircel 3G users can enjoy the benefits of 500 local minutes of calling (Aircel to Aircel), 1000 SMS (local and national), and download of 2050 MB. Those in the Aircel 2G circle will enjoy 600 local minutes of calling (from Aircel to all operators), and the same SMS and data benefits that the 3G users get.
The smartphone is priced at Rs.14,549 and comes with a premium headset worth Rs. 2000.
