The slim and curvy Xperia Arc has been updated. Yes, Sony Ericsson has announced an updated version of the Xperia Arc at the IFA called the Xperia Arc S which will be hitting markets in October. You won’t see any design upgrade, however the processor has been upgraded. (Still no dual-core though)
The handset will now boast a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor which will be a boost of about 40% on processing power. The handset will have the same looks; however the software has been updated. It will run on Android Gingerbread along with a few minor fixes and additions in the UI by Sony Ericsson. Also the 8.1 megapixel camera will include a 3D sweep panorama mode that lets you use the phone’s 2D camera to generate 3D images for viewing over HDMI on compatible displays.

According to sources, we have found out that the Arc S will also support USB-on-the-go, which means now you can plus in your external storage devices and even USB powered keyboards, mice and more.
