The rumor mills have started and thanks to them, we are getting information about the upcoming HTC made Nexus smartphones since few weeks now. Until now, we were supplied with information regarding the specifications of the upcoming HTC Nexus smartphones codenamed Sailfish and Marlin. But, we now know what these Nexus phones will look like. Excited already? We too are.
Take a look at the image shown above. This is how the upcoming HTC made Nexus smartphones codenamed Sailfish and Marlin will look like. However, the image you are looking at is not a leaked press render, rather, it’s a recreation of the upcoming Nexus smartphones done by Android Police based on the information provided by their source.
This is the same source who provided information about the specifications of Nexus Sailfish and Nexus Marlin. Android Police says that the source is very reliable and the information provided is pretty much accurate.
Now, talking about the design, there’s nothing much fancy on the front side of the device. It’s pretty simple. There’s a secondary camera, earpiece for phone calls, some sensors, and, well the display. At the back is the primary camera along with three holes besides it. There’s no information as to what purpose do those holes serve, but, they are assumed to some sensors and secondary microphone.
Going below, there’s the fingerprint scanner. It looks similar to the scanner we have seen on Nexus 5X and 6P. Further down, you can see the G logo (G is for Google, remember?). Also visible are the antenna lines. According to the source, both the phones will be made of aluminium body.
Last month, the same source had said that Android N (now Nougat) will come with redesigned navigation buttons. However, the navigation buttons we are seeing in the image above are opaque but the flower design around the home button is missing.
This is what Android Police has to say about the image they have shared:
- At this point, we are uncertain if the software home button will be solid white or solid white with the previously-leaked 4-color “flower” design. In this case, we opted for faithfulness to the source’s information which indicated solid white, though we know that information to be older than that given to us in regard to the “flower” home button.
- The “G” logo on the back of the device may or may not be part of the final design.
- It remains unclear to us if the final design will include an HTC logo, but we are inclined to believe the answer is no.
- We lack exact dimensions and measurements for the phones, and so some edges and curves may appear visibly different in the final retail press renders.
Both the upcoming Nexus smartphones, Sailfish and Marlin will possibly look the smartphone shown in the image above. However, they will differ in size as the Sailfish is rumored to come with a 5-inch display whereas Marlin will have 5.5-inch display.
Again, there’s no official information from Google about the upcoming Nexus devices, so we suggest you take all this information with a pinch of salt. Oh, and by the way, do let us know what you think about the upcoming Nexus smartphones.
