While the much rumoured refreshed version of the Nexus 7 tab didn’t make an appearance at the Google I/O Developer Conference, doesn’t mean it’s the end for most selling tablet line. The tablet is back in news with reports suggesting it won’t be long before we can get our hands on the latest version of the tablet.
According to reports from the supply chain sources, the panel for the second gen tablet from Google and Asus are being made by AU Optronics. Noteworthy is the fact that this is the same company that is said to have taken the order for the display of the next iPad Mini.
The second gen Nexus 7 is said to feature a 1920×1200 pixels low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) display and is expected to be announced by the end of this quarter. In the meanwhile assemblers would soon ship the first batch of devices to warehouses and almost a million units are expected to ship by the end of this month.
