While we had heard that Samsung’s Tizen smartphone would go on sale in India from this week, the company has now officially announced the Samsung Z1.
Samsung has announced the launch of the Samsung Z1 in India. The handset, which is the company’s first Tizen OS based smartphone in the Indian market, is set to compete in the budget smartphone market. The device has a 4 inch IPS display with resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor with 768 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage.
The Samsung Z1has a 3.1 MP rear facing auto focus camera with a LED flash. There is also a front facing VGA camera. The device runs on the latest Tizen OS 2.3 version with a 1500 mAh battery. The handset is priced at Rs. 5700 and would be available in White, Black and Wine Red colour options. Also Reliance and Aircel subscribers purchasing the device would get 500 MB of 3G data free for 6 months.
Speaking about the Samsung Z1, Hyun Chil Hong, CEO, Samsung India Electronics, said, “The smartphone market in India is rapidly evolving, with many consumers using their device as their screen of choice for content including videos, television programs and video games, as well as a range of apps.
