While Barnes and Noble, which was known for the reading tablets, has terminated their tablet line-up, the company has teamed up with Samsung to launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook.
Samsung has announced that it has partnered with Barnes and Noble for the first range of its co-branded tablets – the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook. The first tablet of this new line-up is expected to be released in the US in August and would be priced at just $199.99. As expected the tablet would be predominantly based on the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0.
While the hardware will be provided by Samsung, Barnes and Noble would offer customized Nook software, which provides easy access to Barnes & Noble’s expansive digital collection of more than three million books, leading magazines and newspapers. The tablets will be available exclusively at Barnes & Noble’s bookstores across the US and on the online portal bn.com.
Speaking about the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook, Michael P. Huseby, CEO of Barnes & Noble, Inc, said, “We are very excited and proud to partner with Samsung, a world-class technology and tablet leader, to create customized co-branded devices featuring our valuable Nook reading experience and digital content catalogue for Barnes & Noble customers nationwide. Standing behind these great new devices will be the power of our 40,000 Barnes & Noble booksellers combined with our deep bookselling and retail expertise to provide sales support and personalized in-store customer service for our line-up of new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook products. ”
