It seems we might be finally getting new iterations of phones before it is too late.
Samsung has just confirmed for us that the Samsung Note 3 and possibly the Galaxy Gear smartwatch would see a launch on September 17.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will have an increased screen size of 5.7 inches with full HD Super AMOLED display, however it is slimmer at just 8.3 mm and lighter at 168 g compared to the earlier Note. The device will feature a textured-touch back cover and would be available in Jet Black, Classic White and Blush Pink.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 would be available in two variants, one powered by the 2.3 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor and the other with a 1.9 GHz octa core Exynos processor. While the former would have LTE support, the latter will have to suffice with 3G connectivity. The device would be packed with 3 GB of RAM and 32/64 GB of internal storage.
The Galaxy Gear smartwatch is Bluetooth v 4.0 capable. It currently works with Android 4.3 support and uses a technology called the Bluetooth low energy capability.
Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smartwatch is just a simple way to communicate via your wrist, It will connect to your Galaxy smartphone and notify you of calls, texts, emails alerts, push messages. You can also view full content expanded on its screen.
Besides this, you can also give out voice commands or answer calls via your Galaxy Gear smartwatch. In fact, you can just call someone directly from the Galaxy Gear smartwatch using voice commands. It also has a 1.9-megapixel camera for taking pictures right from your wrist.
Sony has confirmed that just a fortnight after its international unveil at the IFA, it will be releasing the much awaited Sony Xperia Z1 a.k.a. Honami in India at an event on September 18th. It has already sent out invites for the same.
Currently the pricing of the handset is under wraps but common sense tells us that this handset will debut in the over 35K range and the price might be even above 40K, which is quite obvious since it comes loaded with features such as a 5-inch 1920x1080p TRILUMINOS display with X-Reality for Mobile, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 20.7MP rear camera featuring Sony’s 27mm G Lens with F2.0 aperture and 2GB of RAM, along with 64 GB MicroSD support, 16 Gb internal storage, a 3000 mAh battery and Android 4.2.2 with a huge possibility of Android 4.3 pouring in soon.
It should be available in Black, purple and white color schemes.
Also, another IFA unveil, the LG G2 might see a launch by the end of this month. Most probably, all three phones might hut the market together at similar price points, making the consumer spoilt for choice.
