While the Tizen OS was partially demoed at the recent Mobile World Congress, we are eagerly waiting for the smartphone running on the OS to confirm about its existence. Now we guess our fears would be put to rest with the launch.
According to reports which cite Samsung officials from Korea, the first handset powered by Tizen would be launched by the company next month in Russia. The handset is expected to flaunt specs similar to the Galaxy S4. The company is supposed to release two Tizen handsets initially – one with high end specs and the other just a mid-range offering to attract the larger market.
While it is surprising, that Samsung has decided to launch the first Tizen handset in Russia, sources believe that the company is quite confident about the Russian market and as such preferred it over the Japanese, Chinese or other markets. However, the devices are expected to hit other emerging markets like Brazil soon after Russia. Would you like a Tizen powered Samsung smartphone?
