It doesn’t come as a surprise, but Samsung has just filed preliminary injunction motions to stop Apple to sell the iPhone 4S in France and Italy. The reason here, as you might have guessed, is patent infringement.
This is what Samsung quoted:
“The infringed technology is essential to the reliable functioning of telecom networks and devices and Samsung believes that Apple’s violation as being too severe and that the iPhone 4S should be barred from sales. Apple has continued to flagrantly violate our intellectual property rights and free ride on our technology. We believe it is now necessary to take legal action to protect our innovation.”
The 4S is going to go out on sales on the 18th October in France and the 28th October in Italy and Samsung seeks to stop the sales in the countries. The company is also rumoured to file preliminary injunctions in other countries after further review.
