Samsung recently unveiled its brand new flagships, the impressive Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge but the company isn’t on resting mode yet, as it has revealed a brand new rugged smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 has just gone official and if you are into rugged smartphones, this might interest you.
The highlight of the device is ofcourse its resistance features and you must be thinking what does the aforementioned MIL-STD 810G certification bring. Well, the MIL-STD 810G certification makes the device resistant to salt, rain, dust, humidity, solar radiation, vibration, transport and thermal shock. The device is also certified with the IP67 rating, which means it’s dust resistant and water resistant under 1m depth for half an hour.
The device packs physical under the display along with an Xcover key, which lights up the LED or camera when double pressed. The specs of the device include a 4.5-inch WVGA (800x480p) display, Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor with 1.5 GB RAM, 8 GB storage with expansion, a 5 MP primary camera with ability to snap pics underwater along with a 2 MP selfie cam. Other specs include a 2200 mAh battery, LTE connectivity, altimeter, GPS, compass and the device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat (upgrade to Android 5.0 is coming).
Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 has gone official but the company hasn’t yet revealed the price and its availability details but we will let you know when we come to know.
