Samsung is one company that has been focussing on high-resolution displays. After doing tremendous work on smartphone displays, the company has launched its new range of high-resolution Super AMOLED tablets – the Samsung Galaxy Tab S.
Samsung has announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S range of tablets which is not only the company’s first high-resolution Super AMOLED tablets, but are also touted to be the company’s thinnest and lightest tablet to date. The range consists of two tablets with display sizes of 8.4 inch and 10.5 inch, both having super high resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels with 16:10 ratio and 100000:1 contrast ratio which provides deeper and more realistic images.
The display used on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S range also employs new proprietary screen technologies like the Adaptive Display ensures the best visual experience anywhere, anytime by intelligently adjusting gamma, saturation, and sharpness based on the application being viewed, the colour temperature of the viewing environment and ambient lighting. Also there are professional modes called AMOLED Cinema and AMOLED Photo which allow users to manually adjust the display settings for bright, dynamic results for both video and photo.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablets are both powered by the Snapdragon 800 quad core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz along with 3 GB of RAM. The tablets are also available with the Exynos 5 Octa processor variant based on the region. Both the tablets have an 8 MP rear facing camera with LED flash and a front facing 2.1 MP full HD camera.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablets run on the latest Android KitKat version. The Tab S 8.4 has a 4900 mAh battery whereas the Tab S 10.5 has a bigger 7900 mAh battery. The Wi-Fi only variants of these tablets are priced at $399 and $499 respectively and are expected to be available by the end of this month in Titanium Bronze or Dazzling White colour options.
