Two days ago, at a pre-MWC event in Barcelona, South Korean tech giant Samsung announced two of the most awaited flagships of 2018 – the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+. Alongside revealing details about the specifications and features of these smartphones, Samsung also revealed details pertaining to the pricing and availability of the S9 and S9+ in some markets. However, there was no word from Samsung about the pricing and availability of S9 and S9+ in India. But, thanks to some leaks, we now know when Samsung could launch the S9/S9+ in India and what could be the price.
According to a report by SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are going to be launched in India next week, that is on March 6. Samsung has even started accepting pre-orders in India through its official website where you can pre-book the S9 or S9+ by paying an amount of ₹2000 as advance.
Well, even if Samsung launches the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in India on March 6, it’s very likely that the sales will only begin from March 16. And, apart from selling these flagships through its website, Samsung might also sell them through Flipkart, and of course, through offline stores as well in the country.
That said, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ come in three storage variants – 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. And, if the listing on Samsung India’s website is anything to go by, then we will see only two variants coming to India – 64 GB and 256 GB.
And speaking about the pricing, according to a report by 91Mobiles, the 64 GB storage variants of S9 and S9+ will have an MRP of ₹62,500 and ₹70,000 respectively, whereas, the 256 GB storage variants of the S9 and S9+ will come with MRP of ₹71,000 and ₹79,000 respectively.
Well, it’s worth noting that is the MRP (Maximum Retail Price) we are talking about, hence, the actual price at which these flagships will be sold in India could be lesser.
That said, there’s no word from Samsung yet regarding the price and launch of the S9 and S9+ in India, hence, take all this information with a pinch of salt.
