Even though Samsung is not going to unveil the Galaxy S8 at MWC 2017, we have been hearing quite a lot about it lately. We already have a pretty fair idea of how it will look at what it will pack. Well, Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy S8+ along with the Galaxy S8, and, a detailed list of its specifications has just surfaced online.
This list of specifications is leaked by popular leakster Evan Blass on Twitter who is always accurate with his leaks. Going by the spec sheet he has shared, the Galaxy S8+ will boast a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display. However, the S8+ would come with rounded screen corners, and taking them into consideration, we are looking at a 6.1-inch display instead.
Well, the Galaxy S8+ will not be the first smartphone to come with rounded screen corners though, as that would be the LG G6 which is going to be unveiled on February 26. Coming back to the Galaxy S8+, it will sport a 12 MP Dual Pixel camera at the back and have an 8 MP snapper on the front. It will also be IP68 certified making it dust and water resistant, and, like the Galaxy Note7, it will also have Iris Scanner.
The Galaxy S8+ would also come with 4 GB RAM and have 64 GB storage on board, but, you will able to expand the storage using a microSD card. The spec sheet doesn’t mention anything about the processor or the Android version, but, it’s a known fact now that it will come with Snapdragon 835 under hood. Speaking of Android version, we are hoping it will run 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
The Galaxy S8+ would also support Wireless Charging and will ship with earphones fine tuned by AKG. We reckon all these specifications will also make it to the Galaxy S8, with the only difference in screen size (which is said to be 5.8-inch) and battery. While there’s no mention of the battery in the spec sheet shared by Blass, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are rumored to pack 3000 mAh and 3500 mAh batteries respectively. Well, that’s kind of small considering the size and resolution of screens on this Galaxy S8 duo.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ are expected to be unveiled on March 29, however, we will get confirmed dates from Samsung during MWC 2017.
