After rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for Galaxy S7 and S7 edge in India late last month, Samsung is now rolling out the February Android security patch for the Galaxy S7 in the country.
This update, which comes with the February security patch, weighs 97.67 MB in size. Apart from carrying the security patch, the update also comes with some bug fixes and performance improvements. Having said that, the update bumps the security patch level of Galaxy S7 to February 1 instead of February 5. While this isn’t necessarily bad, the latter would have been better.
If you haven’t received the update notification yet, you can check for the update manually by heading on to the Settings > Software Update menu. Also, while the February security patch is currently only being rolled out for the Galaxy S7 in India, it should be rolled out for the Galaxy S7 edge soon.
On another note, Samsung Pay is also expected to be announced in India soon. Samsung has already been teasing its arrival and the Samsung Pay app has also been availed on some of the devices in India through software updates. We expect to hear more from Samsung regarding Samsung Pay after the company is done with MWC 2017.
