Samsung rolled out the July 1 security patch for Galaxy J7 (2016) two days ago in India, and now today, Samsung has started rolling out the July 1 security patch for its flagship devices Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in the country.
As we have already told you that Google earlier this month rolled out two security patches instead of one. This is the first time that Google rolled out two security patches. The first patch is dated July 1 whereas the other is dated July 5. The first one contains partial security patch level string whereas the second contains complete security patch level string.
Samsung seems to be rolling out only July 1 security patch instead of rolling out more important July 5 security patch. The update for Galaxy S7 is 104 MB in size whereas the Galaxy S7 edge is 100 MB in size. The updates carry build number XXU1APGF and are rolled out over the air. If you haven’t received the notification yet, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings > About device menu.
We expect Samsung to include the July 5 security patch along with the August patch which will be rolled out next month.
