After rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in India late January, Samsung is now rolling out the Nougat update for its 2015 flagships in the country – the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.
This roll out for the Indian units comes shortly after Samsung released the Nougat update for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge in Europe last week. This software update which upgrades the devices to Android 7.0 Nougat is more than 1 GB in size so it’s highly recommended that you download it over a Wi-Fi connection.
Also, a detailed change log is currently unavailable, however, this being a Nougat update, you will get features like multi-window, improved Doze, direct reply and more after upgrading your Galaxy S6 or S6 edge. Apart from this, there are also some optimizations and bug fixes which are included in this update.
Given the fact that these smartphones were launched in 2015, it’s very likely that this Android Nougat update is the last major update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. Besides, if you haven’t received an update notification on your device yet, you can check for it manually by going to the Settings > Software Update menu.
