While the sales of the Galaxy S5 have been comparatively low, Samsung plans to up its game by offering the LTE variant of its flagship in the country.
According to sources, Samsung has plan to launch the Samsung Galaxy S5 version with LTE support (SM-G900I) in India. While the current Galaxy S5 handsets in the country are powered by the Exynos processor and support only 3G connectivity, the new Galaxy S5 LTE version is powered by the Snapdragon 801 processor and has support for B1 (2,100), B2 (1,900), B3 (1,800), B5 (850), B7 (2,600), B8 (900), B40 (2,300) and B28 (700) LTE bands.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE supports the band that Airtel operates their TD-LTE service in the country. As such we could expect a partnership with Airtel to launch the handset in the country. This handset is not to confused with the Snapdragon 805 powered Galaxy S5 LTE-A. As per the source, the handset is priced at Rs. 56000 but is expected to retail for Rs. 52500, which is just Rs. 1500 more than the 3G variant.
