Just a few days back we heard the first rumors of the Google Play Edition of the Samsung flagship. Now the Google Play edition of the flagship device scrapped through Bluetooth Certification.
An unannounced Samsung handset bearing model number SM-G900FG just received certification for Bluetooth 4.0 and got listed on the Bluetooth SIG website. Interestingly, the model number matches the Samsung Galaxy S5 Google Play edition, implying we would get to see the vanilla Android version of the flagship shortly.
Like any other Google Play editions, the Galaxy S5 Google Play edition would run on Android v4.4.2 without the much-hated TouchWiz UI or any other customization from the company. Also while the specs and other hardware would remain the same as that of the regular Galaxy S5, this device would get Android updates directly from Google, thus reducing the wait time for new updates. We can expect the announcement very soon, maybe even at the upcoming Google I/O conference.
