Samsung launched the Galaxy S5 three months back in India and many were disheartened to see the Exynos packing S5 making its way to India and not the Snapdragon one. Well, fret not, Samsung has just launched the Galaxy S5 4G variant here in India for Rs. 53,500.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 4G is the same Galaxy S5 we know but there’s one change. The phone features the Snapdragon 801 chipset clocked at 2.5 GHz, which brings in the 4G LTE support. There’s also the Adreno 330 GPU in tow. The 3G variant of the S5, which launched previously features the Exynos 5 Octa-core chipset.
The chipset is the only change and the rest of the device remains the same with the same 5.1-inch Full HD (1920x1080p) Super AMOLED display, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage with microSD expansion, 16 MP camera with flash and a 2.1 MP front-facing camera. There’s the same 2800 mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with TouchWiz on top. The connectivity front is now boasted with 4G LTE support, WiFi with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, IR Blaster and GPS.
Samsung Galaxy S5 4G will go on sale in Indian cities with 4G LTE connectivity starting July 20. The South Korean giant has also tied up with Airtel to offer buyers 5 GB 4G data for a couple of months. The company has also announced a Rs. 10,000 upgrade offer for existing Samsung smartphone users.
