Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 is receiving Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update in India. The size of the Over the Air update is 990 MB.
Samsung Galaxy S4 is an ex flagship phone that made its debut with Android’s Jellybean OS and was one of the first Samsung devices to get Android 4.3, Kitkat and now Lollipop. Samsung Galaxy S4 was also one of the first devices to feature an octa-core processor. Its biggest Unique Selling Proposition was its Super AMOLED Full High Definition screen which showcased 441 ppi.
The update comes with a new Material Design TouchWiz User Interface remix which includes a new settings menu, notification panel, messaging screen, dialer and a polished lock screen. Other features include performance and security improvements.
Steps to Check for updates on Samsung Galaxy S4:
- Make sure your battery is above 50%
- Turn on Wi-Fi or Mobile Data (Wi-Fi recommended)
- Go to settings
- Tap on About Device
- Check for Software updates
Some Samsung users were of the opinion that the Company is very reluctant in bringing software updates to its phones and tablets. This is surely changing as the company is improving its portfolio by bringing Lollipop to other devices as well.
