The Android One saga seems to be indeed affecting the smartphone vendors and not just the home-grown ones, global vendors too seem to be feeling the pressure.
Samsung has announced a massive price cut to the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 in India. The handset, which was launched just a week or two ago for Rs. 8150, is now priced at Rs. 7497. The new prices have already been reflected on the official company online store.
Samsung has obviously slashed the price of the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 to match the Rs. 6000 Android One smartphones. However, despite the sizeable price cut the device has lower hardware compared to affordable Android One smartphones which are still cheaper than this. While it might have been a good try, we are quite unsure if this strategy would work for the company.
