The Samsung Galaxy On5 (2016) was spotted on Geekbench earlier last month whereas the Galaxy On7 (2016) was spotted on Geekbench last week. However, now both the devices have been spotted on TENAA as they have received certification from the Chinese authority.
The Samsung Galaxy On5 (2016) listed on TENAA carries model number SM-G5700. It has 1.5 GHz octa-core processor under the hood which is said to be Snapdragon 617. The On5 (2016) comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage whereas the external storage can be expanded up to 128 GB via miroSD card. The device sports a 5-inch HD display and features 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and is backed by a 2600 mAh battery.
Talking about the Galaxy On7 (2016), it’s listed on TENAA with model number SM-G6100. It’s powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor which is supposed to be Snapdragon 625. It comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage along with the option to expand the storage up to 128 GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and is backed by 3300 mAh. The On7 (2016) boasts a 5.5-inch Full-HD display and features the same camera combo found on On5 (2016).
As you can see, both these devices are essentially same with a difference in processor, display and battery size. Also, both these devices are said to have fingerprint scanner on the home button. There also isn’t any noticeable difference between both these devices in terms of design.
There might be other variants as well because we have seen both these devices with different model numbers and specs on Geekbench. Now that Galaxy On5 (2016) and Galaxy On7 (2016) are certified by TENAA, we might see Samsung launching both devices in China soon. As soon as these are launched in China, we are pretty much sure Samsung will bring them in India as well.
