During the initial rumor stages of the Galaxy Note 4, there were speculations about a curved display surface. Samsung has now officially announced the device – the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.
Samsung has announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge at the UnPacked event held at the IFA 2014 in Berlin. The device has a unique display that bends slightly on the right thus offering an additional 160 pixels for the user to access frequently used apps, alerts and device functionality using the swipe of a finger even when the cover is closed.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge has specs and features almost similar to the Galaxy Note 4, except for the slightly smaller display. The device has a 5.6 inch Super AMOLED display with ultra-high resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The handset is powered by the superfast quad core Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7 GHz along with 3 GB of RAM and 32/64 GB of internal storage.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge has a 16 MP rear facing camera sensor with Smart Optical Image Stabilization and LED flash. The device runs on the latest Android KitKat version with a layer of the latest TouchWiz UI. The handset has a slightly smaller 3000 mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving Mode.
