Samsung is slowly and steadily bringing the Android 4.4 KitKat update to a number of its devices. A previous report had suggested that Samsung will bring the update to the Mega devices in June and well, it’s already here. The Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Galaxy Mega 6.3 is now rolling out.
The update is currently available for the Mega 6.3 in Russia and we expect other regions to get the update soon too. The update has the build number I9200XXUDNE4 and it’s available via Samsung’s PC suite, Kies for now. The update as expected brings the Android 4.4 KitKat goodies along with the usual bug fixes and improvements.
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 was launched almost a year ago and it was launched with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, so we are glad the device is getting the latest KitKat update. We don’t know yet as to when the Mega 5.8 will get the update or when the update will reach to India but we can expect it to come around the start of next month.
