Looks like Samsung will soon be announcing the second generation of Galaxy J2 i.e., Galaxy J2 (2016). The Galaxy J2 (2016) has already been spotted on Geekbench with a quad-core processor and 1.5 GB RAM. Now, another variant of the J2 (2016) with 2 GB RAM has been spotted on AnTuTu.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2016) spotted on AnTuTu with model number SM-J210F is powered by a Spreadtrum SC8830 processor along with 2 GB RAM and Mali-400 GPU. It has an internal storage of 16 GB and features an 8 MP front camera and a 5 MP rear camera. The Galaxy J2 (2016) runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and boasts off a display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
However, the Galaxy J2 (2016) spotted on Geekbench is powered by SC9830 and 1.5 GB RAM as opposed to SC8830 and 2 GB RAM found on AnTuTu listing. Also, it’s worth noting that SC8830 SoC does not support 4G LTE connectivity, which means you will be restricted to using 2G and 3G.
Two different chipsets with different amount of RAM means Samsung is still testing the device and hasn’t finalized the configuration. Let’s hope Samsung ships the Galaxy J2 (2016) with 2 GB RAM because 1.5 GB RAM is just not enough nowadays.
