While Samsung has always launched a rugged version of its flagship smartphones, the company has now launched a mid-range smartphone – the Samsung Galaxy Active Neo.
Samsung has announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Active Neo, which is the company’s latest rugged smartphone with IP67 certification for dust and water resistance and can dropped from a height of 1.5 meters. The device has a 4.5 inch IPS display with resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core Snapdragon 410 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
The Samsung Galaxy Active Neo has an 8 MP rear facing auto focus camera with LED flash. There is also a front facing 2 MP camera. The device runs on the Android Lollipop version with a 2200 mAh battery. The handset is priced at $167 (approx. Rs. 10000) and is available in Japan. There is still no word on the global rollout.
