Samsung has just announced a new member of their A-series family, the Samsung Galaxy A7. The Galaxy A7 was much rumored and the South Korean giant has finally announced the device officially.
As we have come to expect from Samsung’s A-series of smartphones, the Galaxy A7 features a metallic unibody design and is ultra slim at a mere 6.3 mm waistline. On the specs side, the Galaxy A7 features a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD (1280x720p) display and it will come in two chipsets configurations. The single SIM variant will come with an octa-core Exynos 5430 processor (1.8GHz Quad A15 + 1.3GHz Quad A7) and 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor (1.5GHz quad A53 + 1.0GHz quad A53) for the dual SIM variant.
The Galaxy A7 comes with 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage with microSD expansion. On the camera front, there’s a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing 5 MP camera. The device will come with Android 4.4 KitKat along with Samsung’s TouchWiz and Samsung confirms that the device will get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. A 2600 mAh battery powers the device. The connectivity is well covered with the inclusion of NFC and Cat 4 LTE.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 will come in dark Blue, White and Gold color versions. Samsung hasn’t announced the price of the device but suggests that it will be launched at a competitive price point. The device should hit the market by the end of Q1 2015.
