Samsung, which has its eyes set on the tablet market, is planning on a 7 inch tablet which would kick Google Nexus 7 for the price. According to the report in DigiTimes, the 7 inch tablet would compete against the Asus produced tablet and could cost $149 to $199 whereas the Nexus 7 sells at $199.
Given the low price, the specs may be compromised upon, like the Nexus 7 we can expect at most a dual core processor 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. Also Samsung may follow Google Nexus 7 and release a Wi-Fi only model followed by a more expensive 3G version.
In the meanwhile, Samsung, which has been working on a number of tablets recently, has already confirmed the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The Note 8 would be a direct contest against the recent 7.9 inch Apple iPad mini. The Galaxy Note 8 is said to be priced in the $249 – $299 range and is ready to make an appearance at the upcoming Mobile World Congress next month.
