Are you one of those who are not able to access the leaked S-Voice service which is exclusively for the Samsung Galaxy S III? Well you are not alone. As soon as the personal voice assistant for the S III got leaked, Samsung took no time in blocking users to access the service.
S-Voice makes use of Vlingo’s servers and thus it was easy for both Samsung and Vlingo to block access to non-S III devices and returned a ‘Network Error’ result. Today, Samsung has gone ahead and officially accepted that it has blocked the app
Samsung has said that the app that they have blocked is ‘initial test version of S Voice’ and so it ‘does not want consumers to judge the quality of the voice feature based on a test version.’
Speaking to TheVerge, Samsung said, “An initial test version of S Voice which was found online has been blocked as Samsung Electronics does not want consumers to judge the quality of the voice feature based on a test version. When the product is launched, users of GALAXY S III will be able to fully experience S Voice.”
So users will have to wait for a few more days before they are able to get hands on the S-Voice but there is still a workaround available to run the app on your ICS running Android device. And it is still not confirmed if Samsung will release the app for its other Android smartphones.
