So the rumours around the next Nexus smartphone from Google have already started and if one of them is to be believed, then Google might go ahead with LG as the company to manufacture the next generation of Nexus smartphones.
Oh and if you are wondering what the specs the next Nexus smartphone with arrive with, then we would like to shift your attention to the recently launched LG Optimus G.
Yes you read it right. Android Authority is reporting that they have heard that Google might choose LG as the new manufacturer for its Nexus smartphone and go on to use LG’s Optimus G as their flagship Nexus device which, if this happens could be called Optimus Nexus. Sounds great right?
The LG Optimus G does arrive with some impressive specs which already include:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor with 1.5GHz Quad-Core CPU, Adreno 320 GPU with 4G LTE
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
- 2G / 3G / 4G LTE
- 4.7-inch WXGA True HD IPS+ (1280×768 pixels) / 15:9 ratio
- 32GB
- 2GB RAM
- 13.0MP rear / 1.3MP front
- 2,100 mAh
- 131.9 x 68.9 x 8.45mm145g
- Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, USB2.0 HS, A-GPS, MHL, DLNA, NFC
The only thing missing on the Optimus G is the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS as Google has a tradition to launch its Nexus smartphones with the latest Android OS on-board but that should not be an issue for both the companies.
What are your thoughts over this rumour? Will and should Google ditch Samsung and go ahead with LG? Also would you love to see the Optimus G rebranded as Optimus Nexus?
