It seems that you might be getting hands on the first-ever major update to the iOS 5. While Beta testers and developers have already had one-on-one with iOS 5.1, the average Joe might receive it on March 9, according to some leaked operator profiles.
The iOS 5 currently runs on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 3G/4G, iPad and iPad 2.
The update is intended first for operators in Japan, France, Greece, Finland and Sweden. It feels weird to see that the U.K. and U.S. aren’t receiving the updates as yet. We hope we can get this update in India soon. Signaling some hope on this count one of the profiles said, “The iOS updates are normally rolled out at the same time worldwide, so everyone should expect iOS 5.1 to become available next month.”
Not only the general public, but even jailbreakers need to be prepared in case iOS 5.1 is finally released. One thing to note, that an iPad 3 release rumors are also heating up. It is quite probable that Apple might be releasing an iPad 3 and iOS 5.1 on the same. We would suggest you start saving in case you want it because even the last iPad was released in March and hit the shelves soon after. But, as we often say, rumors are rumors until proven otherwise.
