When Samsung first unveiled the original Galaxy Note, everyone was taken aback by the announcement of a 5.3-inch smartphone which created a new category called ‘Phablets’.
And since then, the market has been flooded with 5-inch phablets from all major manufacturers and as the Galaxy Note II arrived with a 5.5-inch screen, rumors about have already begun around the next Galaxy Note.
News coming in from Korea Times suggests that Samsung may be planning to introduce the Galaxy Note III with a whopping 6.3-inch screen later this year.
The rumor has sparked as talks about Samsung is said to be a restructuring of its LCD unit and using the resources and concentrating more on OLED displays. A part supplier said to the source that, “With money saved from LCD restructuring, the firm plans to spend more on OLED and flexible displays.”
We have already heard that Samsung is planning to introduce a 4.99-inch Galaxy S IV around April and so this might have prompted Samsung to break the barrier between phablets and the 7-inch tablets and go in for a 6+ inch Note.
For now we would suggest our readers to take this rumor with a big grain of salt until something concrete pops up.
