While Reliance Jio is gearing up to launch its 4G LTE in the country, RIL has revealed its plans to launch its new smartphone brand.
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has announced its plans to launch 4G LTE smartphones under its new brand LYF. The company has also confirmed that the handsets would have support for Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-FI), HD Voice and HD quality video calling. The devices would be available across India through one of the widest distribution and retail network for smartphones and would be available at multi-brand outlets (MBOs) and modern trade including Reliance Retail stores across India.
While the company did not reveal any specs or details of the handsets, the rumours reveal that the devices have a metal frame with glass back. The smartphones would run on the Android Lollipop. The company claims that the LYF brand is built on the premise of unmatched user experience will offer high performance handsets that deliver a true 4G experience comparable to the best in the world. The handsets are said to be priced between Rs. 4000 and Rs. 25000.
