In line with its plans to roll-out 4G wireless services across the country, Reliance Jio has started rolling out its mobile network and Wi-Fi hotspot services in Gujarat.
Reliance Jio Infocomm has started deploying its mobile network and Wi-Fi hotspot services on a pilot basis in select cities in Gujarat. As of now, as many as 55000 devices are currently using the company’s free wireless services which are currently available in Ahmedabad, Baroda and Surat. The company is also currently rolling out optic fibre services besides the 4G wireless services.
Reliance Jio Infocomm had purchased airwaves for its 4G services in 14 circles for a whopping Rs. 11000 crore at the recent auction. The company is also said to be closing on negotiations with device vendors to provide good devices at very affordable prices. While the expected date of launch for 4G services isn’t mentioned, the timeline reveals that we should expect it by the end of this year.
