While Reliance Jio, which is slightly caught up with the 4G services rollout, had revealed its plans to launch 4G enabled smartphones in India, the company may be launching the handsets this month.
According to sources, Reliance Jio is planning on launching four new handsets this month. The devices, which would be branded as LYF smartphones, are said to be 4G-VoLTE capable. The company would have four different smartphone range named after the four elements – Earth, Water, Wind and Fire. All the handsets would offer dual SIM support.
For now, Reliance Jio is said to launch one super-premium smartphone in the Earth series and three premium smartphones in the Water series. While the hardware details of the smartphones are not yet known, sources in the know suggest that the handsets would be priced between Rs. 4000 to Rs. 25000 and would be available online as well as offline.
