Further breaking records and proving its mettle, Reliance Jio has now crossed the 50 million subscriber mark in less than three months of its commercial launch.
According to sources, Reliance Jio has crossed the 50 million subscriber mark in a record 83 days, making it the largest carrier by mobile broadband user base, leaving behind Airtel. The operator, which commercially launched its 4G VoLTE services in India on September 5, is said to have acquired 1000 customers per minute and 6 lakhs per day.
In comparison the market leader Airtel took a long period of 6 years to gather the 41 million mobile broadband user base. While Reliance Jio has been facing stiff opposition from other operators including issues like insufficient PoIs, the operator has managed to grow exponentially owing to its free Jio Welcome Offer which provides unlimited voice calls, data and access to the Jio suite of apps.
