With devices rocking large displays becoming a new trend in the smartphone range, Huawei seems to have plans to launch the refreshed version of its Huawei Ascend Mate in time for next year’s CES.
According to newly leaked images, Huawei is working on the Huawei Ascend Mate 2, which would be refreshed version of the 6.1 inch phablet it launched earlier this year at the CES. While the device would retain the display size of 6.1 inch, we can expect an upgraded resolution of 1080p. Similarly, a slightly better 1.6 GHz quad processor would power the phone with 2 GB of RAM.
Compare to the last device, the refreshed version of Huawei Ascend Mate has a more compact body with design cues from the Samsung phablet. The device would run on the Android v4.2.2 with a layer of Huawei Emotion UI. While there is no specific date for now, we can expect the smartphone to be launched at CES 2014.
Expected specs of the Huawei Ascend Mate 2:
- 6.1 inch display
- 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution
- 1.6 GHz quad core processor
- 2 GB RAM
- 16 GB internal memory
- 8 MP primary camera
- 1 MP front facing camera
- Google Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- 4950 mAh battery
