In a bid to reduce the prices of mobile devices, Qualcomm which was earlier planning to release some low priced processor chips has finally launched two such chips, the Snapdragon 400 and Snapdragon 200.
The newly launched processor chips are aimed for budgeted mid-range and entry level smartphones. While the pricing is not yet announced, we can expect quite reasonable rates by its hardware partners. There are even speculations of this processors being seen at the upcoming Mobile World Congress.
The Snapdragon 400 would support a Dual Krait CPUs running at up to 1.7GHz per core featuring Asynchronous Symmetric Multiprocessing or a Quad ARM® Cortex™-A7 CPUs running at up to 1.4GHz per core. An Adreno 305 GPU could be included in the chipset. It would support all the modern wireless technologies and also have a Dual SIM capability. The camera would be up to 13.5 megapixels.
The Snapdragon 200 would have Quad ARM Cortex-A5 CPU with nearly 1.4 GHz per core. The GPU supported is only the Adreno 203. This processor would be capable of hosting a camera of up to 8 megapixels. It would support all the modern wireless technologies and also have a Dual SIM capability.
