With the cellular connectivity norms expanding to provide high-speed services, Qualcomm has launched the Gobi 9×45 modem for smartphones.
Qualcomm has announced the launch of the new Gobi 9×45, which is the company’s fifth-generation Category 10 LTE cellular multimode modem. The modem supports global Carrier Aggregation (CA) across the TDD and FDD spectrum and is said to offer download speeds of up to 450 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 100Mbps.
The Qualcomm Gobi 9×45 supports all major RF bands and band combinations with global support for DC-HSPA, EVDO, CDMA 1x, GSM and TD-SCDMA. It also has integrated support for LTE Broadcast, VoLTE and LTE Dual SIM. The modem is expected to feature on premium LTE-A smartphones expected to arrive in 2015.
