With the buzz around the iPhone 5 picking up as the smartphone is reaching more markets, it seems India is next on the list and the iPhone 5 will be available in the subcontinent in the first week of November.
Online retailer Infibeam is now taking pre-orders for the 16 GB version of the 4-inch smartphone with an initial payment of Rs.5000.
The price of the iPhone 5 has not been announced on the site but from what we are hearing via MaheshTelecom, the iPhone 5 will be available for Rs.45500 and will be available on November 2nd, 2012 in India.
The iPhone 5 was officially announced on September 12th and went on sale on September 21st in 22 countries. In the 1st 24 hours over 2 million iPhone 5’s were pre-ordered and 5 million units of the 4-inch smartphone were sold in the first weekend of the launch.
There have been reports that there were some production issues with the aluminium casing of the iPhone 5 which is causing a shortage in the supply and so the stocks are expected to be limited when the iPhone 5 launches in India.
Update: Ingram Micro has announced today that it will offer iPhone 5 at leading modern trade stores and retail outlets across India beginning Friday, November 2.
