Philips recently made a comeback in India with its Xenium series of high-powered battery equipped feature phones. The company has now jumped into the Android bandwagon by officially announcing its first Android smartphone.
The W920 is the first Android offering by Philips which should fall under the mid-budget segment.
The smartphone has a 4.3-inch TFT 800 x 480 display, 512MB RAM, a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, 3G HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Android 2.2 Froyo with Adobe Flash support. There isn’t any mentioning of the processor, but sources say it might have a 1GHz CPU onboard.
We are presuming that Philips will be launching the W920 in India soon and it should fall somewhere around Rs. 15-18000 price segment.
