Paytm, the mobile wallet which has seen a meteoric rise in its user base since demonetization in India, now has more than 200 Million users.
Since demonetization in India, citizens in the country had to rely on digital wallets to make payments for various purposes like paying bills, doing mobile recharge, etc. Amongst all the mobile wallet solutions available in the market, Paytm is the one which has benefited the most on account of cash crunch in the country.
Well, it’s safe to say that demonetization played a major role in helping Paytm reach the 200 Million user milestone. However, it would be interesting to see how Paytm maintains the momentum after the cash flow in India is back to normal. Also, now that Paytm has over 200 Million users, Vijay Shekhar, Founder of Paytm, has tweeted that the company now aims to reach 500 Million users by the year 2020.
On another note, the company has also launched a new app called Paytm Mall. It’s essentially an online shopping portal for buying products across different categories. Of course, the standalone Paytm app too lets you buy stuff, but with Paytm Mall, the company wants to simplify the shopping experience for its users.
By the way, are you still using the Paytm app?
