Last year at CES it was said that Panasonic had some plans for an extra tough tablet with a huge display. Later in the year, the company quite the smartphone industry but apparently not the tablet industry and plans to make a massive comeback with the Panasonic Toughpad 4K.
The Panasonic Toughpad 4K is said to be tough and pressure resistant owning to the magnesium alloy chassis of the device. It is said to survive drops from up to 2.5 feet on the rear surface. The device sports a huge 20 inch display with an ultra-high resolution of 3840 x 2560 pixels, which results in 230 ppi density.
The Panasonic Toughpad 4K is powered by an Ivy Bridge Intel Core i5 processor along with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB internal storage on the built-in SSD. There is also a dedicated NVidia GeForce GT745M GPU. The device runs on the recently released Windows 8.1 Pro. The tablet is expected to be unveiled around February.
