Earlier last month, Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus rolled out Android Oreo based OxygenOS 5.0.3 update for the OnePlus 5T. Now, the company has begun rolling out OxygenOS 5.0.4 update for both the OnePlus 5T as well as the OnePlus 5.
This update that’s being rolled out to both the OnePlus 5 and 5T is based on Android 8.0 Oreo and doesn’t upgrade your smartphone to 8.1 Oreo. Moreover, OnePlus also hasn’t included the latest security patch with this update, and hence, both these devices will remain on Android security patch that’s dated December 1, 2017 even after updating with OxygenOS 5.0.4 update.
Well, what this update does come along with is bug fixes. OxygenOS 5.0.4 update comes with fixes for issues related to incoming call notifications and “sound instabilities” during video playback. Apart from that, there isn’t much to talk about here. The update is 58 MB in size and started rolling out over-the-air incrementally a couple of days ago which means majority of OnePlus 5 and 5T users should have received it by now.
In case you haven’t received the OxygenOS 5.0.4 update on your OnePlus 5/5T yet, you can check for it manually by heading over to the Settings > System updates menu.
