Oppo has just unveiled a brand new mid-range smartphone dubbed Oppo R3 in Beijing. Oppo claims it to be the thinnest 4G smartphone in the world. The Oppo R3 is quite thin at 6.3 mm and all you metal lovers can surely rejoice, as the device has a magnesium alloy body. Let’s check out the other specs of the device.
The Oppo R3 packs in a 5-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS display and it is powered by a 1.6 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and Adreno 305 GPU coupled with 1 GB RAM. There’s 8 GB of internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD card.
On the camera front, the R3 features an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash. There’s a night shot feature, which reduces noise in your low light pictures. On the front, there’s a 5 MP camera for your selfie needs. There’s also a new O-Video feature, that combines photos and videos so that you can upload them online. Oppo says, any mobile phone can re-scan the image to automatically play the video.
It runs on Oppo’s Color OS 1.4 on top of Android. There’s a 2420 mAh battery in tow. Connectivity is well covered, as we have come to expect from modern smartphones. There’s 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
The Oppo R3 will go on sale in China later this month for 2299 Chinese Yuan (~Rs. 21,880). It will come in the usual Black and White colors. Oppo hasn’t revealed plans of bringing the device to the rest of world but we’ll let you know, as soon as we get to know.
