After months of tease from Oppo and several leaks and rumors, the Oppo Find 7 has been finally made official today. As rumored, the Oppo Find 7 comes in two flavours, one with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display and the other with a 5.5-inch Full HD display.
Talking about the QHD display packing Oppo Find 7, the QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display on 5.5-inches makes up for a pixel density of 538ppi. The display features Gorilla Glass 3 for protection and the screen can also be operated with wet hands. It is powered by the same 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC SoC, which powers the Galaxy S5. There’s 3 gigs of RAM, 32GB internal storage along with microSD expansion.
There’s a Sony IMX214 CMOS camera on the rear with a F/2.0 lens and LED flash. The device has the ability to record 4K videos and 720p slow-mo videos at 120 fps. Although, the rumored 50MP camera isn’t there, there’s a cool new Super Zoom mode, which takes 10 5MP pictures and combines them to make a 50MP image. So, yes the phone does capture 50MP images although there’s no 50MP camera sensor. On the front, there’s a 5MP camera.
The Full HD display version of the Oppo Find 7 features a 5.5-inch 1920x1080p display and is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AB chipset along with 2GB RAM. There’s 16GB internal storage along with microSD expansion. The camera on the device is same as its QHD sibling.
There’s LTE connectivity in both the devices and there’s a 3000 mAh battery on the QHD device and a 2800 mAh battery on the FHD Find 7. Oppo has introduced a VOOC tech, which charges the battery to 75% capacity in just 30 minutes.
Both the devices measure 152.6 x 75 x 9.2 mm. The FHD Find 7 weighs in at 170 grams QHD Find 7 is a tad heavier at 173 grams. As we noticed in the leaked pictures, there’s a cool notification strip below the screen, which Oppo likes to call a “breathing” notification light. Oppo has also packed in MaxxAudio speakers, which the company says delivers great bass. There’s also a MaxxEq app which will let you fine tune the sound quality. Oppo Find 7 runs on ColorOS 1.2 (Android 4.3 Jelly Bean).
The Find 7 with FHD display is priced at 2998 CNY (~$484) will hit stores in China starting tomorrow, while a global roll out should happen soon. The QHD Find 7 is priced at 3,498 CNY (~$565) will hit the market globally around April June.
The specifications of the Oppo Find 7 are surely a dream for Android lovers. I personally cannot wait to have a look at that pixel dense display and the camera tech is also quite intriguing. What about you? Does the Find 7 get you excited?
